JCB
Most people know the JCB machine but do not know the meaning
of JCB characters. JCB is actually a person's name. His name is Joseph Cyril Bamford. On October 23, 1945, a British man started a machinery manufacturing
company in Rochester, England. He started anew using the initials of his own
names. Accordingly, a new company was named JCB.
Joseph was born on 21 July 1916 in Staffordshire, England.
Joseph's grandfather, Henry Bamford, started a small machinery business in
1871. It gradually grew due to Henry's contribution. As Henry's business
expanded, more employees had to be recruited. As a result, by 1881, more than
60 people were serving under Henry.
Due to the dedication of Bamford's employees, it quickly
became one of the leading machinery manufacturers in England. His sons later
joined Henry's business. Hence the name of the business was changed to
"Henry Bamford and Sons." Joseph Bamford's father was also one of the
sons involved in the business. As a result, little Joseph saw his family
running the business from an early age.
Educated at Stornyhurts College in Lancashire, Joseph was interested in learning about new
machinery from an early age. After graduating from high school, he joined
Alfred Herbert, England's leading machine manufacturer. From the beginning of
his career, Joseph worked hard and gained a good knowledge of new machinery.
Joseph, who worked for Alfred and Herbert in Ghana,
gradually became famous. Henry Bamford and Sons, who belonged to their family
at the time, had several problems with the company. They need the services of
someone with experience in the field to solve them. So Joseph's father invited
him to return home. Realizing the plight of his family, Joseph returned to
England in 1938.
Young George worked hard to develop his family company, but
he was unable to continue that work for long. Due to the crisis situation in
the country due to the Second World War. At that time the English also had the
opportunity to join the army. George joined the Royal British Air Force because
of his high knowledge of machinery. He then worked there for nearly three
years.
Joseph Stafford returned to his country in 1944.
Worked with a welding equipment manufacturer. At the same
time, he became involved in his family business. But one day he got into trouble
with his father's brother. An argument ensued and Joseph was unable to continue
working for his family. He decided to go.
Joseph, then married, was expecting his first child. On
October 23, 1945, he gave birth to a son, Anthony. It was a good day and on the
same day, Joseph started his new company. The company, which started with a
small garage at the time, was renamed JCB. When the company started, there were
only a few employees. But Joseph's time was not wasted and he managed his staff
well, long ago JCB, The Company grew rapidly.
JCB, The Company is so successful because of the management
power of Joseph Bamford. He was always looking out for his employees. Employees
were given maximum freedom. Also, steps were taken to pay salaries on time. In
addition, an annual bonus was paid. As a result, the company's employees never
left Joseph. There were no strikes. That is the secret of the company's
successful journey without any problems.
